1Who is the photo of?
- Stand in front of a plain white or off-white wall, about 2 ft from it so there's no shadow.
- The camera should be about 4 ft away, at eye level.
- Even light on the face: face a window, no harsh overhead light or flash glare.
- Take off glasses, hats and headphones. Keep hair away from the eyes.
- Look straight at the camera, head level, eyes open, mouth closed (a natural smile is OK).
- Lay the baby on their back on a plain white sheet and take the photo from above, or cover a car seat with a white sheet.
- No other person or hands can be in the photo. Hold the baby still with the sheet, not your hands.
- The baby should face the camera with the head level. Eyes may be partly closed for babies.
- Even light, no shadows on the sheet or the face. No hats, pacifiers or toys.

You are responsible for making sure your photo meets the U.S. Department of State's photo requirements. We check its size and position automatically, but the State Department makes the final decision, so we can't guarantee your photo will be accepted. If you choose to let us keep your photo for 180 days, and it's rejected, email a copy of the rejection letter to sales@huskyprintingnac.com within 90 days of your order, from the email address you ordered with, and we'll send you a coupon for one free sheet printed from a new photo of the same person (limit one per order). We use the kept photo only to check that the new photo shows the same person, then delete it. We don't cover application fees or delays.
